Chris works as an Inspections & Aftersales Consultant, playing a vital role in helping customers maintain safe, compliant and efficient warehouse environments through professional warehouse racking inspections and ongoing support.
While new warehouse storage installations often take the spotlight, the long-term safety and performance of those systems depend on regular inspections, maintenance and compliance checks. Chris’ work ensures that the warehouse racking systems installed by Dexion continue operating safely long after installation.
Over the past decade, Chris has worked closely with warehouse managers, safety teams and operators across a wide range of industries, helping businesses protect their people, maintain compliance and optimise their storage systems.
Supporting Warehouse Safety Through Inspections
Chris’ role focuses on helping customers maintain safe and compliant warehouse environments through racking inspections, maintenance and aftersales support.
“Working in inspections and aftersales at Dexion Victoria, my role has been focused on helping customers keep their warehouse storage systems safe, compliant and operating efficiently long after the initial installation,” Chris explains.
“A big part of what I do involves carrying out racking inspections, identifying any damage or safety risks, and making sure systems comply with the AS 4084 Steel Storage Racking Standard.
“Another key aspect of the role is aftersales support. Once a racking system is installed, customers often need help with modifications, repairs, replacement parts or changes as their business grows. My job is to make sure they have the right guidance and solutions so their systems continue to perform in the best way.”
It’s an area of the business that ensures customers receive ongoing support throughout the entire lifecycle of their warehouse storage systems.
The Importance of AS4084 Compliance
Over the past decade, Chris has seen a clear shift in how businesses approach warehouse safety and racking compliance.
“One of the biggest changes has been the growing awareness of racking safety standards, particularly around compliance with the AS 4084 Steel Storage Racking Standard,” he says.
“Ten years ago, many businesses viewed inspections as something optional or something that only happened after damage occurred.
“Now, more companies understand that regular inspections and proper maintenance are essential to keeping their operations safe and compliant.”
This shift reflects broader industry awareness around workplace safety and risk management, particularly in high-activity warehouse environments.
Building Long-Term Relationships with Customers
For Chris, one of the most rewarding parts of the role is working closely with customers and helping them improve the safety of their operations.
“What I enjoy most about working with customers is the opportunity to build long-term relationships and genuinely help improve the safety of their warehouse environments,” Chris says.
“Every site is different and being able to work closely with warehouse managers, safety teams and operators to understand how their operations run is a really rewarding part of the job.”
These relationships are an important part of how Dexion Victoria supports customers, not just as a supplier, but as a trusted partner in warehouse safety and storage optimisation.

After ten years with the business, Chris says the people and culture within Dexion Victoria have played a big part in keeping him motivated.
“What has really kept me motivated is the combination of the people, the variety in the work, and the impact the role has on our customers’ operations, as well as the team and culture within the business.
“Over the years, you build strong relationships with colleagues across different areas. That collaborative environment makes a big difference, because everyone is working toward the same goal of delivering safe, reliable solutions for our customers.”
